Jimmy Carpenter - "Toiling In Obscurity"
Jimmy has been a working musician for more than 25 years. Known in New Orleans for his work as tenor player and horn arranger with Walter “Wolfman” Washington and Eric Lindell, his new release also showcases his talents as singer, songwriter, arranger and producer. Carpenter is backed by an ensemble of New Orleans’ finest musicians, including John Gros on keys (Papa Grows Funk), John Fohl, guitar (Dr. John)), Casandra Faulconer (bass), and Wayne Maureau (drums), with guest appearances by Walter Washington, June Yamagishi, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Matt Perrine, Craig Klein and more. “I’ve been at this a long time, and I’ve wanted to do this forever. It’s the realization of a dream to finally be able to make this record, here in New Orleans, with these stellar musicians.”
