Trumystic’s East Coast Tour “Blending roots reggae with dub, R&B, rock, and pop with a striking flair, this genre-splicing band seems poised to conquer the world.“- Reggae-Reviews.com “Trumystic… a Brooklyn dub collective whose abstract beat-scapes give mainstream hip-hop a swift kick in its Cristal-poppin.” - Time Out New York Much more than simply another reggae band, the Brooklyn-based outfit Trumystic is a 6-piece live dub alliance that will blast the dreads right off your head! Fronted by the commanding vocals of the stunning Kirsty Rock (vocalist on The Easy Star All Stars albums Dub Side of the Moon and Radio Dread) Trumystic come at the classic sounds of Roots-Reggae, Dub, Dancehall, Ska and more with an inventive and soulful approach that appeals as much to veteran Rudeboys as it does to fans of Hip Hop, Rock and R&B. Altogether, the collective boasts Kirsty on vocals, bassist Reggie Hodges (High Fidelity Dub Sessions #3), drummer Craig Santiago (One Groovey Coconut), Tumu Rock as the Dept. of Dub, Duane Och on organ and Tony Calarco on Sax. Their live shows deliver a walloping dose of reggae-infused beats and jams packing the perfect blend of slow dub, bouncing dancehall and up-tempo ska. Expect lyrics that are politically charged yet uplifting and grooves that are sure to keep more than a few fans dancing throughout the night. Owing to their broad appeal Trumystic has already had the pleasure of sharing the stage with a genre-defying list of artists including Jimmy Cliff, Black-Eyed Peas, Culture, Cypress Hill, Ani DiFranco, Hot Tuna and many more. The band is currently on tour in support of their latest album Paradise and they just wrapped up a series of dates in the UK. |
