Western Terrestrials – Back in the Saddle of a Fever Dream
On their sophomore album, Back in the Saddle of a Fever Dream, the group of hard-driving honky tonk outsiders from Vermont expand their alt-country sound by incorporating more of their Nashville influences, paying tribute to classic country greats like Roger Miller and George Jones. Western Terrestrials also stay true to their unconventional roots, with songs ranging from apocalyptic rockers (“King’s Highway”), thunderous space-opera westerns (“Space Cowboy’s Got the Blues”), and the frenetic, funny “Ethan Alien,” a song singer/guitarist Nick Charyk collaborated on with Ketch Secor. The album was ecorded at OmniSound Studios in Nashville and produced by Dean Miller, son of country legend Roger Miller. Along with Ketch Secor’s guest appearance, the album features a duet with George Jones and Tammy Wynette’s daughter, singer-songwriter Georgette Jones.
