Jimmy Destri (of Blondie) Announces 4 New Shows in NYC, CT, MA, and RI

Jimmy Destri, founding member, keyboardist, and hit songwriter of the legendary group Blondie has formed a new band, Jimmy Destri and The Sound Grenade – Don’t miss this singer, songwriter, producer, and inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame live!

The Lower East Side is not what it used to be, especially for those founding members of the Punk/New Wave scene 30 years ago and the CBGBs front-liners who claimed it. With age comes a different breed altogether. Jimmy Destri, founding member, keyboardist, and hit songwriter of the legendary group Blondie has formed a new band, Jimmy Destri and The Sound Grenade. Destri composed and arranged many songs with Blondie, including the number one hits “Atomic,” “Picture This,” and “Maria.” Today, Blondie remains one of the most commercially successful groups to have emerged from the Punk/New Wave scene. Destri was an integral partner in Blondie for over three decades, writing over 30 of their songs, and contributing his unique synth sounds to the group. Destri hasn’t played with Blondie since 2004, but, instead, has started over with a fresh new band of talented musicians.
“When I started hearing what the kids were up to I got a huge kick that a lot of the new bands were imitating my earlier synth sound.” (check out the mash up of Blondie and Arcade Fire)
Backed by some of today’s best players, the band plays Destri-only penned songs from his vast Blondie catalog, as well as Destri’s solo work and new material. According to Jimmy Destri, “when Evan Taylor (one of Destri’s new band mates and drummer for The Bernie Worrell Orchestra) expressed interest in getting together a band that performed my material only, I was very hesitant. Really, is that what you kids want to do? They were more than enthusiastic. After some wearing down, we started to rehearse and just all clicked.” Also performing with Destri is Janet LaBelle (backing vocals, keyboard), Scott Hogan (bass), Kyle Cadena (Lead Guitar), and Glen Fittin (Drums).
So what can the public expect to hear this time around? “Something loud” is all that Jimmy will reveal, though the fans are sure to recognize a lot of Jimmy’s older material. “There is something hair-raising about hearing some of those solos ingrained in your brain, live. Even his new music is signature Destri,” raves one fan. One is sure to walk away with a new respect for the timelessness of Destri’s writing.

The Satin Hearts release their debut album, “Living On Overdrive”

Originating from Pittsburgh and comprised of seasoned players, The Satin Hearts debut release, “Living On Overdrive” (Riff Records), is an excellent display of the band’s musicianship within the realm of 21st century rock n roll. Fronted by Marcy Eustice (formerly of the band Strange Brew), whose voice flows as fine as wine over the top of the band, The Satin Hearts are a force to be reckoned with. “Living On Overdrive” is exactly as the title sounds – this band runs full throttle, right down to the overdriven guitars played by none other than former New York City punk guitarslinger Fran Rifugiato [the legendary Francis Kidd of The Fingers and The Features]. Rifugiato’s sound is reminiscent of the New York City punk scene, but it runs deeper than that. Rifugiato also brings the listener back to the sounds of rock and roll pioneers like Carl Perkins and Chuck Berry. The rhythm section of Chris “SOX” Belin on drums and Jim “ACE” Capp on bass is the perfect gut-busting rhythm section for The Satin Hearts.

“Living On Overdrive”’s title track is a throwback to the 1950s with a guitar sound that gives the rockabilly heroes a run for their money. “Wild Child” is a standout tune with a ska-tinged beat, jangly guitars, mesmerizing feel and satin smooth vocals. The one acoustic song on the album, “Untied,” is a great break from the rest of the in-your-face songs, with the highlight of a heartfelt guitar solo unifying it with the rest of the album. Eustice sings with a deep passion, “I’m finished with my lies / I’m never coming back again / Broken away untied / I played my little games again.” She holds her own up against any of today’s rock and country singers. Eustice is also credited with flute on the song “Lightning Bolt.” The Satin Hearts combine the past with the present on “Cyberstalking Girl,” a song about a girl who is cyber-stalking a boy using literally every possible source. Eustice sings “I’m your friend on Facebook and I visit your websites / I know all your passwords, don’t care if that ain’t right” while the band plays an infectious beat that would have anyone dancing along in no time.

“Living On Overdrive,” engineered by Dennis Takos at DNT Recording Studios, mastered by Garrett Haines at Treelady Studios, and produced by The Satin Hearts, is a solid debut album, filled with passion and packed with a dying breed of heartfelt rock songs. The Satin Hearts will be touring the U.S. this year in support of this debut release.

Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Arthur Nasson, releases “West Cambridge Cowboys”

“A versatile and gifted Pop eccentric.” –American Songwriter Magazine
“Every Single Track Is Brilliant”–***** Five Stars Music-News, UK

“West Cambridge Cowboys” is the 7th album from critically acclaimed singer-song writer and multi-instrumentalist, Arthur Nasson. Compelling from start to finish, “West Cambridge Cowboys” is a momentum-fueled listening experience that careens through varied and uniquely realized songs and ideas. Coming into his own after college and the radical shift of the recording industry caused by the digital revolution, Nasson has established himself as one of the premier independent artists in the US. “Not becoming a cog in the corporate music world, was something that seemed negative but turned out to be the greatest gift imaginable,” says Nasson, who soon began releasing his own music on his own terms as he saw fit. Before long, MTV contacted Arthur about using his music on the station. National Public Radio (NPR) did a feature interview with him. Major newspapers, magazines, and radio stations in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and throughout Europe all jumped in to sing the praises of Nasson. Arthur’s ability to cross musical styles, and conjure new musical ideas has spanned 7 albums; each recording is saturated with its own original and distinct character.

“West Cambridge Cowboys” could be described as “Beatles-esque” in its scope of influences, imaginative melodic and lyrical approach, as well as its richly arranged sound. Vocal harmonies fill these songs that hint at a wide variety of stylistic influences–rock, jazz, classical, neo-soul, surrealism, experimentation, and punk if it were hijacked and produced by Phil Spector. There is a cohesive identity and original voice that clearly ties these songs together throughout the album.

Widely recognized for home recording, Nasson went into Mad Oak Recording Studio in Allston, Massachusetts to record a full analog album (tracked and mixed), which was completed in a week with engineer Benny Grotto (Aerosmith, Ben Folds). “West Cambridge Cowboys” also marks the first time Arthur has not played drums on one of his albums. Arthur’s young sons pitch in with Graham handling all drum tracks and Colin performing slide and ring modulated guitars, synthesizer and percussion on tracks #7 and #9. All other instruments, vocals, sounds, and production are by Arthur Nasson.

Finding Clyde Releases “Sacrifice It All” – Featuring their Lead Single “Let Me Be” – Pick of the Week by Nikki Sixx

Finding Clyde releases “Sacrifice it All” and it’s jam-packed with power. “Let Me Be,” the lead single, has been selected as pick of the week by Nikki Sixx on his show, Sixx Sense.

“It doesn’t matter if you hear a song of theirs blasting at an arena event, pounding away on the radio, cranking on your stereo from their CD, or via your iPod it all sounds the same – great!” – Rick “The Screamer” Lindner, Alternative Revolt Magazine

“[Finding Clyde] packs a powerful rock sound” – Richie Frieman, Pens Eye View

“Sacrifice It All is a fantastic album worth every bit of your attention” – Bam Bam, Away Team

The strength that Bay City, Michigan-based hard rock quartet Finding Clyde’s “Sacrifice it All” delivers is an uncommon combination of simple, chord-driven rock melodies and innovative composition. Joe Rivard’s melodic vocals and overdrive-heavy rhythm guitar act as a solid foundation for the rhythm section of Marc Scott (drums) and Tony Rivard (bass). Jack Neymeiyer’s inventive use of effects and raw skill on lead guitar complement the rhythm section very well and help complete this formidable outfit of hard rockers. Having shared the stage with artists such as Buckcherry, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Slash, Alice Cooper, Pop Evil, Stone Temple Pilots, Egypt Central, and 3 Doors Down, the members of Finding Clyde have proved their ability to perform both on-stage and in-studio.

“Sacrifice it All” is jam-packed with power. “Let Me Be,” the lead single, has been climbing the Active Rock Radio charts from Idaho to Texas, Oklahoma, and throughout the group’s home state of Michigan, reaching #39 on the charts and selected as pick of the week by Nikki Sixx on his show, Sixx Sense. The title track, “Sacrifice It All,” exemplifies the band’s use of forceful, chord-heavy guitar style, loud drums, and cleaner-sounding bass lines that are juxtaposed flawlessly against the intense guitar harmonies. “Answer Me,” Finding Clyde’s power ballad, bound to draw comparisons to Stone Temple Pilots’ “Plush” commands the listener’s attention with passion and anger along with vocals reminiscent of Scott Weiland. “Get Higher,” the album’s opening track, is destined to be right on the heels of “Let Me Be” as the next big single from this album, with a driving bass line, killer guitar solo, and soulful rock vocals.

“Sacrifice It All” was recorded, mixed, and produced by Chuck Alkazian (Trust Company, Pop Evil, Teddy Porter, Saving Abel, Bobaflex) at Pearl Sound Studios in Detroit, MI and mastered by Scott Hull (Ani Difranco, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springstein, Elvis Costello, and Sting) at Masterdisk in New York City.
