Jazz pianist DAN CRISCI’s life in music spans far and wide, from academia to church, to jazz clubs, to the stage and screen. Scenes Along The Way catalogs the latter aspect of Crisci’s career as a collection of his tracks that have appeared on the soundtracks of TV shows and films such as Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, Will Trent, Vladimir, Murdoch Mysteries, and Run Amok. Dan Crisci’s accomplished career includes concerts at New York City and New Jersey venues such as Birdland, The Squire, and Shanghai Jazz, performing with musicians such as Zach Brock (Snarky Puppy), festivals such as Maplewood Jazzfest, as well as a performance at the Overlook Foundation Gala with vocalist Bill Robinson. Dan is also a long-term associate of the Triad Arts Ensemble, accompanying their production of The Fantasticks, and their Canticles for Life AIDS Benefit Concerts, often playing his original jazz music.
In 2024, Dan wrote the score for an independent movie called A Relative Comedy, set to release in 2026. Scenes Along The Way sees Crisci covering a variety of genres within jazz, including Early Jazz (“Around the Block,” “Evening Swing,” “Struttin’ With Some Blues”), Bossa Nova (“East to West”), and Modern Jazz (“Up And Away,” “The Bridge Not Taken”), presenting the fruits of a diverse career.
