Jennifer Tefft knows life for you is crazy right now. It’s crazy for her, it’s crazy for her family and closest friends. So when the proverbial shit hits the fan, and that seems to happen with startling frequency these days, the Massachusetts songwriter is asking us to stay strong, remain positive, and, most of all, look for the Silver lining. Providing a sonic compass for life’s storms at maximum volume, Jennifer Tefft & The Strange unleash their new single “Silver” to the world on June 3. Tefft explains, “I constantly look for silver linings — the world is dark and scary these days and I often find silver linings in simple things and moments of joy or beauty.” This soaring new composition, which adds a euphoric pop sheen to the band’s usually gritty and dramatic alternative rock sound, is the follow-up to February’s hypnotic “A Little More,” and last fall’s powerful cover of The Lumineers’ “Salt and the Sea.” And “Silver” arrives just ahead of the band’s appearance at The New England Americana Festival in Medfield, Massachusetts on June 6, marking a return to Tefft’s hometown. Performing live and creating music with her band – the guitarist and powerhouse vocalist is rounded out in The Strange by longtime collaborator and guitarist John Parrillo; Stephen “Sharky” Beccia on bass; and new recruit Chis Jost on drums.

As listeners relate to the message and apply their own dalliances to Tefft’s relatable lyricisms, what they’ll also hear in “Silver” is the sound of a band firing on all creative cylinders, blurring genre lines and experimenting with sound without losing the identity first forged in their 2024 debut album Strange Beginnings. For Tefft, a veteran musician and songwriter whose songs have been heard across international televisions on Cruel Summer, CSI, Stargate Universe, One Life To Live, The Young & The Restless, and elsewhere, the release of her album Strange Beginnings two years ago was a jump-off point for this creative era.
