Jacob’s pedal steel serves as the emotional centerpiece of the recording, weaving through the arrangement with a sense of longing and wanderlust that echoes the song’s enduring themes. The forthcoming album Miles From Nowhere features an accomplished cast of musicians, including legendary pedal steel guitarist JayDee Maness, whose work with Gram Parsons, The Byrds, and the Desert Rose Band helped shape the sound of Cosmic American Music and country-rock. Joining Parker and Cleary are Gary Jacob on pedal steel, Michael Rinne on bass, Ron Keck on drums, and arranger and multi-instrumentalist Stevie Blacke, whose string arrangements have appeared on recordings by Willie Nelson, Glen Campbell, Chris Isaak, Joe Cocker, and Pink. The album also features Tracer James and other musicians who contributed to the project.
