Love Me While I’m Working is the new full-length album from The Afterschools, blending guitardriven indie rock, vocal-hook-centered songwriting, and keyboard-based arrangements. The project builds on the momentum of the album’s title track, originally released in 2024 and later promoted as a standalone single. Powderfinger supported the track through a successful radio campaign in summer and fall 2025, where it reached light and medium rotation on approximately 50 stations. The single’s success led naturally to a conversation about the full album, and after reconnecting in spring 2026, the team moved forward with a complete release and radio promotion plan.
The album also features the upcoming video for “Game Changer,” continuing the project’s DIY visual approach. Official Video for “Game Changer” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qA8yBZsdy8Q The Afterschools is the Lincoln, Nebraska-based project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chanty Stovall, whose work combines detailed lyricism with dynamic, live-in-the-room performances. Recorded at Lincoln Analog and Tube with contributions from Eric Harris, Harrison Cass, and additional guest musicians, the album reflects the band’s mix of analog textures, collaborative energy, and narrative-driven songwriting.
